Job summary

Eastern Commercial is seeking a detail-oriented Preconstruction Engineer to support cost estimation across a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, and government projects in Duluth, GA. You will develop accurate estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, and help drive early design and budgeting decisions.

The role requires reading drawings and specs, strong analytical skills, and experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and ProEst.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in estimation or preconstruction.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of estimating principles, methods, and best practices.
• Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs using digital tools.
• Support budgets from conceptual to GMP-level during project phases.
• Maintain organized, well-documented cost breakdowns for internal/external use.
• Apply value engineering concepts and cost-saving strategies.
