Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a highly skilled Pipefitter with extensive experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries for a contract position based in Houston, TX.

The candidate will interpret ship piping drawings and fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping, end-prep piping, install hangers, and fabricate details from drawings. Three+ years' experience required; on-site work only.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of pipefitting experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries.
• Ability to read and interpret ship piping drawings.
• Experience with carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret ship piping drawings.
• Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping.
• End-prep piping by hand or using Portsmouth Machine.
• Install pipe hangers.
• Read a ruler using inches and tenths.
• Prep and fit up backing rings.
• Clean cut/break pipe with a grinder.
• Hand prep V bevels.
• Fabricate details and assemblies from drawings.
• Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender.
