Qualifications

• Licensed physician with state license and board certification in a clinical specialty.
• Experience with utilization review and care management processes.
• Experience chairing or serving on a Utilization Management Committee.
• Demonstrated cost-efficient practice and resource stewardship.
• Preferred ABQUARP certification

Responsibilities

• Lead the Utilization Review Committee with CM leadership.
• Conduct secondary status reviews for appropriate level of care.
• Peer-to-peer consults with payor medical directors on denials.
• Monitor UM metrics and drive action to meet targets (denials, LOS, Code 44).
• Educate physicians on regulatory requirements and CDI programs.
• Mentor UR Case Managers to improve care progression.
