Job summary

Flourish Research is actively hiring a Patient Scheduler to support the Valkyrie Clinical Trials Century City, Los Angeles, California site. The role involves coordinating appointments, handling high call volumes, and ensuring accurate EMR data entry.

Onsite, 40 hours per week with day shifts. Qualifications include a high school diploma (with some college preferred) and 1+ years in medical scheduling or healthcare admin.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with EMR and practice management software preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance verification processes preferred.
• Experience with insurance authorizations and referrals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong customer service skills for inter- and intra-department interactions.
• Demonstrates professionalism and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage high-volume calls and follow-up communications.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients to provide clear instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, reschedule, cancel, and follow-up on patient appointments.
• Answer calls and respond to inquiries about appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility prior to appointments.
• Enter/update patient demographic and insurance data in EMR/practice management system.
• Send appointment reminders via phone, text, or email.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments with specialists.
• Manage waitlists and fill last-minute cancellations.
• Communicate with front desk staff about scheduling conflicts and provider availability.
• Meet deadlines established by SOPs and policies.
• Represent Flourish Research professionally in all interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Comply with HIPAA, GCP, and clinic policies.
• Assist with other front-office duties as needed.
