UChicago Medicine in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Part-Time Patient Case Specialist in the Patient Access Services department. This 100% onsite role supports pre-admission, admission, verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance to ensure efficient patient throughput.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience, strong verbal and written communication, and solid arithmetic skills to determine patient liability and insurer requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical skills to calculate patient liability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient's financial data.
• Determine and meet third-party payor requirements for reimbursement.
• Document all account activity for proper billing.
• Capture complete patient demographics and insurance information.
• Determine patient's liability and discuss with the patient to secure payment.
• Cross-train to all Admission Services functions.
• Perform other duties as requested by senior management.
