Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners in Effingham, IL seeks a Patient Access Specialist to perform admitting duties for hospital services, manage patient registration, insurance data, and education distribution on-site at HSHS-St. Anthony's Hospital. The role focuses on accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service.

The position offers hourly pay between $17.00 and $18.15 based on experience, with bonuses, paid certifications, and tuition reimbursement. On-site work and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
• CRCR required within 9 months of hire (Company Paid)

Responsibilities

• Admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital while meeting organizational mission and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate MRNs, medical necessity/compliance checks, patient instructions, and insurance information.
• Process physician orders and use overlay tools while providing excellent customer service per Press Ganey metrics.
• Explain general consent forms, obtain signatures, and distribute patient education documents.
• Review insurance eligibility and enter benefit data to support POS and billing processes for clean claim rate.
• Screen Medicare ABN software to inform patients of potential non-payment and document ABN distribution.
