Job summary

Solventum is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for healthcare products. You will select materials, support new product launches, and collaborate with suppliers to evaluate new packaging technologies. The role requires hands-on testing, packaging artwork, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Onsite in Brookings, SD with travel up to 10%. Requires a engineering or science degree (or 4+ years in packaging) and experience with CAD and MS Office;

Qualifications

• Design and develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.
• Select packaging materials such as corrugated boxes, plastics, foam, paper, and films.
• Support new product launches by supporting new packaging specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate new materials and packaging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure packaging meets protection and cost targets.
• Validate packaging designs with testing and standards (ISTA/ASTM).
• Document packaging specifications and artwork for production.
