Job summary

Ciena Government Solutions Inc. (CGSI) is seeking a Network Solutions Engineer to design, coordinate, and execute test plans ensuring seamless integration of Ciena products within a customer’s legacy network.

You will serve as the local SME, guiding modernization efforts and providing expert support on deployment. The role reports to the Senior Manager and collaborates with the Project Manager and Sales Account Manager dedicated to the customer account.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years in telecommunications or network engineering.
• Experience with Ciena platforms and industry standards.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define project requirements.
• Develop and execute test plans for equipment functionality and interoperability.
• Provide deployment guidance and SME support during implementation.
• Prepare documentation for configuration, provisioning, and testing.
• Turn up network services following best practices and perform end-to-end testing.
