Job summary

HASC seeks an Onsite Medical Assistant to join a senior-level team supporting occupational health services across Gulf Coast locations. You will operate medical equipment, perform calibrations, and manage patient flow with strict confidentiality and safety standards.

Travel to client sites is required; CDL and strong communication are essential. The role emphasizes compliance with CFR 1910.134, DOT requirements, and a commitment to professional growth within occupational medicine.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of occupational medicine or equivalent experience.
• General organizational skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current full unrestricted certification.
• Computer skills including electronic medical records.
• Must pass background check, drug screening, and safety examinations.
• Advanced credentials preferred.
• CDL license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of equipment including x-ray, respirator fit, pulmonary function, audiometry, and other medical tools.
• Calibrate all equipment daily per manufacturer requirements; additional calibrations as needed.
• Conduct periodic surveys of equipment and stations to identify safety and hygiene hazards.
• Complete administrative steps for equipment data verification and recording.
• Administer respirator fit tests in compliance with CFR 1910.134.
• Disinfect and inspect respirators after each test.
• Maintain customer relationships with speed and professionalism.
• Ensure all patient data and paperwork remain confidential at all times.
• Facilitate medical patient vital signs, triage, and room placement.
• Keep up to date with safety topics, software, training technology.
• Attend and pass a week-long certifying course in NIOSH/CAOCH.
• Attend and pass required drug and alcohol testing courses; test patients as needed.
• Respond to after-hour calls; coordinate with radiology vendors for quick reporting.
• Facilitate State Radiologic inspections (x-ray technicians only).
• Assist with patient check-in/check-out; contribute to team efforts as needed.
• Safely operate CDL-class vehicles to transport mobile units and equipment; maintain driver logs and conduct DOT inspections.
