Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Department of Administration, OTIS, seeks a Network Technician I in Columbia to support network design, monitoring, and service ordering. You will help manage inventory, create diagrams, and produce accurate network documentation.

This onsite role requires basic networking knowledge, willingness to work evenings and weekends, and coordination with multiple agencies to ensure reliable voice, video and data networks across the state.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of data network services and data communications.
• Basic knowledge of data network design and equipment configuration requirements.
• Ability to present technical and non-technical reports clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supports network integration and security by maintaining supplies and managing the shopping cart.
• Determines bandwidth needs and service changes by collaborating with teams and vendors.
• Uses network monitoring tools to track performance and order management.
• Provides quotes for network equipment and prepares diagrams.
• Coordinates network project implementation through orders and communications.
• Occasionally works evenings, weekends, and daily driving duties.
