Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Texas-based, onsite team. You will serve as a subject-matter expert for Mist Wireless, Wired Assurance, EX switches, and SRX firewalls, guiding design, testing, and deployment with customers.

The role requires 6+ years in data center routing and network architecture, strong Python scripting and automation skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years’ experience in data center routing, switching, and network architecture.
• Experience with Python scripting and test automation.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for Mist Wireless, Wired Assurance, EX switches, and SRX firewalls.
• Provide primary technical support for break/fix activities and diagnostics.
• Advise on Junos configurations and network design.
• Collaborate with internal teams and outsourced partners on design and development.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and provide feedback.
• Contribute engineering leadership to cross-organizational projects.
• Drive innovation by integrating new technologies.
• Mentor junior staff.
