Job summary

Ursa Major seeks an experienced NDT Level III Inspector to own radiographic and penetrant testing for inert and energetic hardware, including digital X-ray inspection. This on-site role oversees NAS410 written practices, qualification programs, and inspection performance at Berthoud and Galeton.

You will develop procedures, train personnel, and drive scalable NDT processes while collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector focused on Radiographic Testing and Penetrant Testing.
• NAS410 Level 3 in Radiographic Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Visual Testing with complete records.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Experience developing digital radiography techniques for complex hardware.
• Strong knowledge of digital radiography fundamentals and image processing.
• Experience with penetrant inspection variables and procedures.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Experience mentoring Level 1/2 inspectors and leading NDT projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Ursa Major’s onsite Level 3 authority for Radiographic Testing and Penetrant Testing.
• Develop, qualify, and maintain NAS410 written practices and personnel qualification programs.
• Develop, qualify, approve, and maintain NDT procedures, work instructions, technique sheets, inspection plans, and reference standards.
• Perform and oversee NDT inspections on development and production hardware.
• Interpret indications and ensure traceability of results.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to embed inspectability.
• Lead training for NDT personnel and maintain qualification records.
• Oversee qualification documentation and audits; support corrective actions as needed.
• Define and maintain equipment verification, calibration, and data integrity requirements.
• Lead or support investigations involving NDT findings and nonconformances.
