Tharros in the United States seeks a Penetration Tester to support the US Navy’s operational test and evaluation mission. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of penetration testing, red teaming, or exploitation development.
• Minimum 3 years leading red team operators to achieve test objectives.
• OSCP or equivalent certification.
• Proficient with offensive tools like Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Core Impact, Burp Suite, Nessus, SharpHound/BloodHound.
• Ability to validate tool functionality and safety from source code, document results.
• Ability to detect malicious activity via dynamic analysis and document results.
• Ability to independently conduct penetration testing/red teaming to achieve objectives.
• Knowledge of encryption, evasion, and digital forensics; Unix/Linux and Windows internals.

Responsibilities

• Review OPTEVFOR cyber T&E concepts, SOPs, policies, and guidance.
• Develop 01D SOPs and DCAT authorization documentation per DoDI 8585.01.
• Submit requirements for equipment or cyber capabilities via 01D approvals.
• Support development and execution of TTPs for penetration testing and Red Teaming.
• Research adversary TTPs and integrate findings into test planning.
• Participate in OPTEVFOR cyber test planning and coordination.
• Prepare OPTEV-RT test assets and conduct test events.
• Use OPTEVFOR tools and approved commercial/open-source cyber assessment tools.
• Apply ethical hacking to exploit vulnerabilities and document results.
• Follow deconfliction procedures and ensure safe, compliant testing.
