Job summary

Amentum is actively seeking a Naval Architect/Structural Engineer with 3+ years of experience to work onsite in Code 241/242 at MARMC in Norfolk, VA. The role involves inspecting ship structures, conducting structural analyses, and supporting repairs in accordance with Navy standards.

Candidates must be able to complete corrosion-related certification courses within 8 months of hire, and may travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• BS in Structural Engineering or Naval Architecture from ABET-accredited school (Mechanical Eng acceptable with naval background).
• 3+ years hands-on experience inspecting ship structures and related maintenance.
• 3+ years experience performing structural analysis and load calculations to Navy standards.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; Interim Secret by Day One if not yet cleared.
• May travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance, assessment, and corrective actions.
• Inspect current ship condition and determine actions to correct issues.
• Respond to ESR and Client Departures as applicable.
• Complete corrosion-related certification courses within 8 months after hire.
