Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc is seeking a Naval Architect & Marine Engineer to supervise the Structural group, developing detailed designs and 3D models for ships, barges, and related marine structures.

You will oversee production drawings, perform class and regulatory calculations, and coordinate with clients and vendors. A Bachelor's in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering is required; a Master’s is preferred. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years naval architecture and shipyard experience.
• Proficiency with FORAN 3D Design Software or Ship Constructor or similar 3D CAD/CAM software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MSC Nastran or Femap or other FEAs; Rhino.
• Strong MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
• 5+ years of management experience on major Government Projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a group of designers, drafters, and engineers in the Structural group.
• Develop Structural and Arrangement designs in 2D and 3D software.
• Prepare schedules for engineering work and assign tasks per budget.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and craft superintendents as needed.
• Prepare drawings for class approval and ensure compliance with regulations.
