Job summary

SWJ Technology seeks an MTM Expert/Industrial Engineer for a contractor role in Vance, AL. You will analyze and optimize manual assembly operations using MTM time standards and collaborate with production, logistics, and ergonomics teams to ensure efficient processes aligned with production needs.

Responsibilities include performing MTM time analyses, developing standard work and time calculations, evaluating takt time and line balancing, and supporting capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Practical MTM experience in automotive assembly or similar manufacturing environment.
• MTM training or certification.
• Understanding of manual assembly processes and manufacturing operations.
• Experience with standard work, takt time, line balancing, and production planning.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manual assembly operations using MTM and approved time standards.
• Develop and maintain standard work, operation sequences, and standard-time calculations.
• Evaluate takt time, identify bottlenecks, and drive productivity improvements.
• Provide labor-time, staffing, and capacity inputs to production planning.
• Assess impact of variants, changes, tooling, and workstation layouts on time.
• Support line balancing and optimization of manual assembly processes.
• Collaborate across production, manufacturing engineering, logistics, and ergonomics.
• Update MTM analyses and planning documentation as processes change.
• Communicate time-analysis results to stakeholders.
• Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
