Job summary

SWJ Technology seeks an MTM Expert/Industrial Engineer for an automotive client, based in Vance, AL. This contract role requires onsite presence and a 40-hour work week, with ASAP start.

You will analyze manual assembly operations using MTM, document standard times, and support production planning with labor-time and staffing inputs. You will collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and ergonomics teams to improve line balance, workstation efficiency, and overall productivity, while updating

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Practical MTM experience in automotive assembly or similar.
• Experience with standard work, takt time, and line balancing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze planned and existing manual assembly operations using MTM and approved time standards.
• Develop and maintain documented work methods, operation sequences, standard work, and standard-time calculations.
• Evaluate work content against takt time and identify bottlenecks and productivity opportunities.
• Provide labor-time, staffing, and capacity inputs to production and process planners.
• Assess impact of product variants, engineering changes, tooling, equipment on assembly time.
• Support line balancing and optimization of manual assembly processes.
• Collaborate with production, logistics, and ergonomics teams on process improvements.
• Evaluate workstation design and work methods for efficiency and ergonomics.
• Validate planning assumptions during trials, pilot builds, and ramp-up.
• Update MTM analyses and planning docs as processes change.
• Communicate time-analysis results clearly to stakeholders.
