Job summary

NGFCU in Gardena, CA is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to manage processing of mortgage loan applications from submission through approval and closing. You will work with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title and escrow companies, appraisers and real estate professionals to ensure conditions are obtained, reviewed, and cleared on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years mortgage loan processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of conventional, non-conforming, and HELOC lending guidelines.
• Experience with Encompass or another loan origination system.
• Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP).
• Working knowledge of real estate lending compliance requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel).
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain an organized workflow.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
• Strong member service skills and a commitment to helping members navigate the lending process.

Responsibilities

• Process and package mortgage loans accurately and within established timelines.
• Monitor daily processing requests and manage multiple loan files.
• Communicate with borrowers regarding underwriting conditions and obtain required documentation.
• Open title and escrow and coordinate with title and escrow professionals.
• Order and follow up on appraisals, payoffs, flood certifications, verification of employment, and other documents.
• Prepare and update Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures as needed.
• Review and audit appraisal reports and address issues.
• Work with Underwriting to obtain approval and clear conditions.
• Coordinate pre-closing loan packages with Compliance and Quality Control teams.
• Submit completed files to the Closing/Funding team.
