Job summary

Vulcan Steel Products on site in Pelham, AL, is seeking a maintenance technician to sustain and repair mobile equipment and to develop a comprehensive mechanical PM program. The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and adjusting equipment, reading electrical schematics, and coordinating with forklift service providers to ensure repairs are completed.

The candidate should be self-motivated with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Maintain and repair mobile equipment on site as part of the role.
• Develop and maintain a mechanical PM program for all equipment.
• Read and understand electrical schematics to diagnose issues.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking abilities.
• Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Pass a mechanical test as part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the on-site mobile equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, repair and adjust equipment as needed.
• Develop and maintain current mechanical PM schedule for all equipment.
• Collaborate with forklift service companies to ensure services and completed repairs.
• Provide support for all mobile equipment (forklifts, yard trucks, trailers, etc.).
• Maintain a safe and reliable working environment with good attendance.
