Job summary

Autoscience Institute is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for an on-site, full-time role in Menlo Park to bring AutoScience into customer environments. You will work directly with customers to understand their ML systems, deploy AutoScience into their infrastructure, and turn ambiguous modeling problems into environments for automated experiments.

You’ll write production code, operate within real ML pipelines, and debug distributed systems while collaborating with research and engineering

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and Python proficiency.
• Experience building, training, evaluating, or deploying ML systems.
• Experience with production cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads.
• Strong debugging skills across software, infrastructure, data, and ML systems.
• Experience owning technically complex projects from ambiguous starting points through production.
• Excellent judgment on when to build robust solutions vs. move quickly.
• Ability to communicate deeply technical ideas with researchers, engineers, and technical leaders.
• Willingness to spend significant time directly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Understand customers' ML environments and deploy AutoScience into their infrastructure.
• Translate ambiguous modeling problems into executable experiments in ML pipelines.
• Write production-grade code and work within real ML pipelines and distributed systems.
• Own deployments end-to-end from initial discussions to model improvements in production.
