The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville, VA, onsite role assisting the ATDM Metrology Lab. The technician will prepare the lab, support classroom and lab activities, and ensure access to tools and equipment needed for effective learning.

The ideal candidate has metrology experience, reads engineering drawings, and maintains laboratory safety and organization while supporting instructors and students across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Dimensional Inspection Career Studies Certificate or equivalent training.
• Minimum of two years of metrology experience.
• Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with instructors and students.

Responsabilités

• Prepare the metrology lab for instruction and assist during classroom and laboratory activities.
• Monitor, organize, and maintain laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with laboratory setup and teardown for instructional activities and special projects.
• Track inventory and communicate supply needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
• Assist instructors with demonstrations and student support during training sessions.
