Job summary

The AMN InPerson Interpreting (IPI) team is seeking qualified freelance interpreters for Brandon, FL. You will facilitate onsite communication between LEP patients and healthcare providers using the AMN IPI App, with sessions available daily.

Requires fluency in English and another language, adherence to ethics, and recent HIPAA training. Join a growing national network with flexible scheduling and professional support.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and another language; strong verbal communication.
• Knowledge of ethics and standards for medical interpreting (IMIA/NBCMI/NCIHC).
• HIPAA training completed within the last year.
• Proof of language proficiency via medical assessments (LangStat, etc.).
• Accredited medical interpreting training (ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting for LEP patients and providers.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and preparedness for shifts.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and session requirements.
• Pass screening before accepting in person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards for hospital, clinic settings.
• Support respectful, culturally competent communication with patients.
