Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services seeks a detail-oriented Healthcare Collections Specialist for a temp-to-hire role in Orlando, FL. The position focuses on resolving insurance denials, preparing appeals, and following up on unpaid claims within a behavioral health context.

You will work onsite, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, aiming to process 800–1000 claims per month and transition to a permanent role after 640 hours.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of medical billing experience.
• Experience resolving insurance denials and submitting appeals.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
• Familiarity with 837I/837P claim formats, UB-04, and CMS-1500.
• Ability to review medical records for appeal support.

Responsibilities

• Review denials and EOBs to identify coding or payer issues.
• Prepare and submit appeals with medical records before deadlines.
• Identify billing errors and resubmit corrected claims.
• Contact carriers to resolve denials and track status.
• Collaborate with billing and utilization review to recover AR.
• Meet a production goal of 800–1000 claims per month.
