Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
• Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Various Issuers preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] -Various Issuers preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and onboarding/training.
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, interview patients, obtain medical information, measure vital signs, and record in chart.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions; provide educational materials.
• Perform general office duties: answer phones, dictate notes, complete insurance forms; liaise with departments; advocate for patients.
• Collect blood, tissue, or samples; log and prepare for testing; perform phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provide immunizations as certified or experienced; supervision of a provider.
• Improve departmental quality initiatives (two patient identifiers and hand hygiene).

Education
