Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. in Brookline, MA is hiring a Medical Assistant I to support clinical and non-clinical patient services onsite.

You will take vital signs, document information, schedule appointments and help manage patient flow while collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to ensure efficient care. The role requires 1–2 years of MA or medical field experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• BLS Certification and CMA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties such as answering telephones and completing insurance forms; liaise with other departments and advocate for patients.
• Collect tissue or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms, keep them neat, sterilize instruments, and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• May float to different practices within Primary Care as needed.
