Job summary

Hospital Referral Services is seeking an Onsite Medicaid Eligibility Representative based at Avita Galion/Bucyrus Hospital (Galion as base). You will screen patients bedside to assess eligibility for Medicaid and charity programs, and complete the required applications with care and confidentiality.

The role emphasizes high patient interaction, walking/standing, and meeting monthly production goals. Training is provided; prior customer service experience is favored, with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to multitask and type minimum 40 WPM.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Good attendance and dependability are essential.
• Successful completion of drug and background test is required.
• Annual Flu shots and TB testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Review the hospital work queue or census to identify uninsured patients that are admitted to the Emergency Room.
• Screen/interview patient bedside in hospital setting to determine possible eligibility for Medicaid or charity programs.
• Complete applications for Medicaid benefits and charity programs as needed.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, hospital staff, and patients.
• Abide by HIPAA rules and regulations to protect patient privacy.
• Meet production goals and objectives as assigned by hospital and management monthly.
• Maintain confidentiality of account information at all times.
