Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an Onsite Reliability Test Technician in Round Lake, IL. The role requires 6+ years of lab/testing experience or an AA/engineering degree to set up and execute precision testing for electromechanical medical devices.

Responsibilities include operating environmental chambers, test stands, gauges, and meters; performing teardowns and data-driven analyses; and generating detailed reports for engineers and management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or AA degree with at least 6 years of lab/testing experience, or an engineering degree with a hands-on mechanical/electrical background.
• Solid understanding of electromechanical systems, ability to read engineering drawings and schematics, and proficiency with mechanical gauging instruments.
• Hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition experience, strong technical record-keeping skills, and optional exposure to environmental compliance testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing on new and existing electromechanical medical devices per specified requirements.
• Set up, operate, and monitor lab equipment including environmental chambers, test stands, mechanical gauges, and electrical meters.
• Perform product teardowns, destructive testing, and collaborative failure analysis with engineers to recommend design improvements.
• Document test configurations, record accurate test data, and author detailed test reports for project engineers and management.
• Verify and validate proposed design changes, process controls, and competitive products as part of the product development lifecycle.
