Job summary

Mpac Group's Boston Conveyor & Automation unit in Newburyport, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the design of custom automation solutions—robotic work cells, conveyors, and process machinery—across food, life sciences, and general manufacturing. You will collaborate with engineering and operations, manage priorities, and travel to sites as needed.

The role emphasizes hands-on design responsibility, system safety, and delivering concepts from idea to manufacture and installation.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent two-year college qualification; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• SolidWorks experience required; AutoCAD for facility layouts recommended.
• Knowledge of machinery safety standards and design validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom machinery using SolidWorks.
• Review drawings, perform calculations, and ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including purchasing and production.
• Travel to customer sites for evaluation, measurements and installation support.
