Job summary

DivIHN Integration Inc in Painted Post, NY, seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer/Designer Technician to support the development of custom equipment, fixtures, tooling, prototypes, and manufacturing systems in an R&D environment.

The role combines hands-on assembly and validation with CAD work in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM; requires 5 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, strong tolerancing and GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work with vendors and internal teams onsite.

Qualifications

• Proven capability in mechanical design, detailing, manufacturing support, and equipment development.
• SolidWorks for part modeling, assembly modeling, drafting, and detailing.
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar document management system.
• Strong tolerancing, GD&T, constraint-based design, and manufacturability knowledge.
• Experience creating and managing BOMs and component specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete mechanical designs from sketches and direction.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Maintain BOMs and part specifications in SolidWorks PDM.
• Source components and coordinate with procurement and suppliers.
• Support prototype construction, testing, and design refinement.
• Ensure documentation and drawing standards are followed through the project lifecycle.
• Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning activities as required.
