The position requires coordinating with VA COR and Healthcare Engineer, overseeing construction in an active medical center, and managing schedule, cost, and quality during all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum six years of professional engineering or construction management experience.
• Fifteen years in lieu of degree with seven years of managing facility mechanical projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction-phase oversight.
• Conduct daily on-site construction inspections.
• Track submittals and RFIs; review and provide written recommendations.
• Review RFIs and provide input before COR deadlines.
• Monitor construction schedule and progress.
• Review and validate contractor pay applications.
• Document deficiencies and track corrective actions.
• Support development of FORCE packages.
• Maintain project tracking reports.
• Participate in bi-weekly project meetings.
• Coordinate with VA COR and Healthcare Engineer.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly inspection documentation.
