Job summary

DKD Enterprises seeks an Onsite Materials Manager to oversee material receiving, storage, inventory, and distribution on active commercial and industrial construction projects.

You will coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and vendors, maintain accurate inventory records, minimize waste, and ensure materials meet project schedules while upholding safety standards. The role may involve forklift operation and travel to multiple sites in New Mexico.

Qualifications

• Must read construction drawings, material lists, and purchase orders.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with inventory management software preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; forklift certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Manage onsite material receiving, storage, inventory, and distribution.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or incorrect items and report discrepancies.
• Maintain organized laydown yards, storage containers, and warehouse areas.
• Coordinate daily material requests with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen.
• Schedule and monitor deliveries to ensure materials arrive per project schedules.
• Maintain inventory records using company tracking systems.
• Conduct routine inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate returns, warranty claims, and replacement materials with vendors.
• Track and safeguard tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other material handling equipment safely (as certified).
• Ensure materials stored per manufacturer and OSHA safety requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized material storage areas.
• Minimize material waste and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with material forecasting and procurement planning.
• Work with purchasing on material availability and lead times.
• Maintain delivery tickets, packing slips, inventory logs, transfer records.
• Participate in project planning meetings on logistics and material flow.
• Support multiple job sites as required.
