Job summary

Strategic Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Materials Coordinator/Inventory Specialist in Abilene, TX. The role supports material accountability, storeroom operations, and storage yards, with a 12+ month contract at a 7AM-4PM schedule.

A valid driver's license is required and overtime may be available. Responsibilities include issuing materials, inspecting received stock, processing records, and handling hazardous materials per safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year in inventory control, warehousing, or related field.
• Basic computer skills to use inventory management software (Maximo); Excel/Word experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Issue material with proper authorization and file records; may include pickup, haul, and delivery.
• Check received material for quantity and condition; process material receipt records.
• Identify, sort and record material returns; place usable stock and scrap material in the correct containers.
• Operate terminals and printers for inventory systems; use scanners and related office equipment.
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage; handle hazardous materials following procedures.
• Assist with maintaining storage efficiency and inventory levels; perform cycle counts and adjust discrepancies.
