Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking an engineering intern to join our manufacturing team on site in Iowa. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians to drive production improvements and gain hands-on experience with equipment, data, and processes.

As a current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, you will explore safety, process capability, and manufacturing flow while supporting various cells and projects.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Desire to dig in and understand the technical details of manufacturing processes including safety, process capability, manufacturing data, capacity planning, and manufacturing flow.
• Prior experience implementing manufacturing equipment and supporting existing manufacturing cells preferred but not required.
• Previous internship is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete interview and assessment to match your strengths and aptitude to where you will make the biggest impact between our machine shop, welding, weld robotics, paint, assembly engineering, and systems/data teams.
• Learn and understand the job from the operators’ perspective and then help determine improvements you can drive to existing processes and equipment.
• Work with a team to implement equipment into manufacturing.
• Work with a team to determine manufacturing data to display that helps improve manufacturing.
• Work with a team on research and development of future equipment, processes, and data.
