Job summary

Nelson Global in Oshkosh, WI is seeking an HR Generalist to support hourly recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, safety, and HRIS reporting at our on-site plant. You will partner with the HR Manager to administer policies, resolve employee relations issues, and ensure regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes recruiting skilled labor (welders), administering benefits (health, 401k), leave management, and data accuracy in UKG HRIS.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field strongly desired.
Minimum 2+ years of hourly manufacturing recruiting experience, preferably skilled positions.
Minimum 3+ years of progressive HR Generalist work experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Knowledge of HR best practices and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

Recruit hourly talent and onboard new hires, with emphasis on skilled labor such as welders.
Partner with managers on employee relations, performance, and policy adherence.
Administer benefits programs including health, 401K, and open enrollment.
Manage full-cycle payroll and time/attendance reporting.
Administer leave of absence and FMLA; ensure HR compliance and recordkeeping.
Maintain HRIS data and generate turnover, absenteeism, and diversity metrics.
Coordinate safety training and incident investigations; promote safety culture.
