Job summary

Harvard Resource Solutions LLC is seeking an Accountant or Bookkeeper to support a small design and manufacturing company in Madison Heights, MI. This onsite, full-time role focuses on accurate financial records, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and PO management.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong QuickBooks experience (5+ years) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with inventory in QuickBooks a plus; collaboration with production and finance teams is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a small or mid-sized manufacturing or engineering company is required.
• Proficient in QuickBooks with 5+ years of use; strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, purchase orders, and month-end closing.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support full cycle accounting activities by focusing on invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, purchase order management, cash reconciliation, and maintaining inventory information.
• Accounts Payable and PO’s: Process vendor invoices, 3-way match of PO’s to receipts and invoices, support payment runs and PO balance monitoring.
• Accounts Receivable: Generate customer invoices, track collections, apply payments.
• Cash Management: Reconcile bank accounts and process employee expense reports.
• Coordinate with vendors, customers and internal staff to answer questions and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile statements and accounts for month-end closing.
• Maintain and query parts information in the QuickBooks inventory module (GR/IR balances).
