Job summary

P&S Transportation is seeking an Onsite Manager to oversee driver daily activities, meet customer expectations, and process orders. You will coordinate with drivers nationwide using the McLeod operating system to assign work and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a four-year degree (Supply Chain preferred) or equivalent dispatch experience, strong communication, and solid MS Office skills. Flexibility for weekends/evenings may be needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• High School Diploma with 1-3 years dispatching experience.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office) and familiarity with TMS systems (McLeod).
• Strong time management and detail orientation.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with drivers and the customer.
• Use McLeod to assign work to drivers.
• Direct the daily activities of drivers to designated territories or operations per policy.
• Provide drivers with guidance on compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensure drivers are safe, productive, and deliver on-time to customers.

Job Description

The Onsite Manager is responsible for meeting customer expectations through customer service, processing orders, and fulfilling customer needs; this person also manages the daily activity of our driver personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Communicates with drivers and the customer
• Utilize McLeod, which is our operating software, to assign work to drivers all over the country
• Direct the daily activities of drivers to designated territories or dedicated operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and business objectives
• Providing drivers with guidance on complying with any applicable local, state and federal statutes regulating the trucking industry.
• Ensure that drivers are safe, productive, and deliver on-time to our customers.
• Counseling drivers and assisting them with over the road issues
• Assist drivers with keeping important documents up to date such as driver’s license renewal, random drug tests and physicals
• Developing existing carrier base by building relationships
• Having thorough understanding of carriers and equipment portfolio
• Documenting and retaining relevant carrier information
• Booking loads based on commitment and required needs
• Arranging the pick-up and delivery of loads with carriers
• Resolving any issues that arise in the execution of delivering the load
• Communicating with customers, carriers, manager, and team members
• Adapting to market sensitivities
• Providing reporting as requested by the customer

Qualifications

A Successful Onsite Manager must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, drivers, and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Onsite Manager must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• A four year degree from an accredited college or university preferably in Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
• High School Diploma with 1-3 years of transportation dispatching experience
• Excellent computer skills especially in TMS systems (McLeod) preferred
• Experience in MS Office Suite (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)
• Strong time management
• Very organized and detail oriented
