Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment, ensuring machines run reliably. The role is onsite at 20 Staniford Street, Boston, with an evening shift offering a 40-hour workweek.

Responsibilities include cleaning, lubricating, and repairing machinery, documenting issues, and diagnosing breakdowns. Strong hands-on mechanical experience and teamwork are essential for success in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience: 2-3 years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Thoroughly clean machines and parts; remove and reinstall as needed.
• Oil and lubricate moving parts for optimal performance.
• Record and report damaged or worn parts.
• Identify causes of unexpected machine breakdowns and repair promptly.
