Job summary

ReqRoute,Inc. seeks an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and support applications on the IBM Mainframe z/OS platform. The role demands COBOL, JCL, DB2, and SAS expertise with hands-on use of key utilities.

You will analyze requirements, implement efficient solutions, and participate in code reviews and performance tuning. The position is 100% onsite in Chicago, IL, for a 6‑month contract with strong focus on reliability and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2 and SAS.
• Expertise with mainframe utilities and diagnostic tools.
• Experience reading and analyzing SAS programs.
• Familiarity with batch and online processing on z/OS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2 and SAS.
• Translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions on IBM Mainframe.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning with mainframe tools.
• Manage and maintain source code using PANVALET and related utilities.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and security guidelines.
