Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Jamestown, NY is seeking a Machining Team Manager to lead a production team across three shifts, delivering the daily Production Plan while upholding safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

You will coach direct reports, manage timekeeping and attendance, drive 5S and ergonomic improvements, and lead cross-functional projects from start to finish. This 100% onsite role requires strong communication and people leadership to build high-performance teams.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience required; export controls/licensing may apply.
• 3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Execute the daily Production Plan across all three shifts, deploying resources to maximize output and meet production targets.
• Lead, coach, and develop a production team, building capability and engagement over time.
• Manage performance and behavior of direct reports through coaching and mentoring.
• Administer the timekeeping system and enforce attendance policies.
• Champion health and safety by leading 5S, safety and ergonomic projects.
• Partner cross-functionally to close Corrective Action Responses and improve quality.
• Lead projects and cross-functional groups from initiation to completion.
• Build productive manager-employee relationships and ensure policy adherence.
