Job summary

SimIS, Inc. in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Low-Code/No-Code Solutions Developer to provide hands-on digital workflow prototyping and rapid proof-of-concepts for CAPDEV work.

This on-site role focuses on identifying workflow problems, designing and building pilot solutions, testing in operational use, and preparing demonstrations for transition to enterprise development. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, Human-Centered Design, Business Process Management, or a closely related field
• Recent End-to-End Hands-On Solution Delivery: demonstrate at least one data or analytical solution developed and used by a user group in the last 18 months
• Non-Microsoft Low-Code, No-Code, or Configurable Application Development: demonstrate two applications/workflows built on non-Microsoft platforms
• Rapid Prototyping and Minimum Viable Solution Delivery: provide two examples of rapidly translating requirements into testable POCs or pilots
• Business Process Discovery and Workflow Redesign: two examples of digitally enabled workflow design to improve processes
• Data Integration and Lightweight Technical Development: at least one example of extending or integrating digital applications using APIs, SQL, and coding languages
• Operational Pilot, User Testing, and Iterative Improvement: two examples of user testing or pilots with iterative improvements
• Lifecycle Discipline and Delivery within Constrained Environments: demonstrate testing, defect tracking, and environment separation
• Transition to Enterprise Development or Scaling: one example of preparing prototypes for enterprise deployment
• Prototype Assessment and Decision Communication: two examples communicating prototype results to decision makers

Responsibilities

• Support CAPDEV organizations through hands-on rapid development of digital workflow proofs of concept, prototypes, and operational pilots using approved non-Microsoft low-code platforms
• Work with process owners, analysts, and stakeholders to understand current workflows, data needs, decisions, and pain points for transformation
• Document current and desired workflows with user roles, states, handoffs, data requirements, and business rules
• Translate operational needs into MVP requirements for rapid development, demonstration, testing, and iteration with users
• Design, configure, develop, test, and improve digital applications and workflows that replace manual, spreadsheet-driven processes
