Job summary

Xcimer Energy seeks a Technical Project Manager - Laser System to lead the laser system project execution within the Inertial Fusion Energy program. You’ll coordinate with the Laser System Director, Program Director, and cross-functional teams to ensure schedules, artifacts, and milestones are met.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in engineering project delivery for complex hardware, strong communication, and a solid understanding of photonics, optics, lasers or RF systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, construction management, business management, engineering, physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years in project engineering, project coordination, project planning and controls in laser/high-energy hardware domains.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive scheduling management.
• Experience with build and sequencing of critical path schedules.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, scientific and support teams.
• Understanding of laser/optical or high-energy hardware development processes.
• Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for complex hardware.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of projects within scope through informed technical decision making.
• Plan, schedule, and track project progress for Laser Element systems using Jira, Flow, and planning tools, in coordination with Project Controls & Planning.
• Monitor release, requirements, and design-review efforts to assess progress toward milestones and escalate issues.
• Manage project documentation including plans, architecture/requirements review packages, meeting minutes, and action items, ensuring clear communication across sub-teams.
• Coordinate activities and staffing resource allocation across laser engineering, laser science, optics, pulsed power, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
• Assist in tracking element cost and develop execution spend plans.
