Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by AMT or MT/MLS by ASCP or categorical ASCP certification in a lab specialty.
State licensure if required by law.
2 years of related experience with 1 year supervisory.

Responsibilities

Assists with developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives aligning with the organization's strategic plan.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, scheduling, payroll, and student engagements.
Monitors department budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations; justifies needs for systems/equipment and oversees supplies.
Assesses service quality and coordinates with staff, medical offices, and external laboratories; acts as Director in absence.
Works in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking and decisive judgement.
