Job summary

Abcam is seeking a Lab Support Technician to bolster the daily operations of our Eugene, OR site. This on-site role focuses on hands-on laboratory support, equipment upkeep, and adherence to safety and compliance protocols to ensure efficient lab operations.

You will perform autoclaving, glasswashing, buffer and media prep, manage PPE stock, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain laboratory readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with hands-on experience in a support role within laboratory, safety, facilities, or general workplace operations.
• Good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, work with vendors, and keep clear and accurate records.
• Proficiency with standard office tools (such as email, calendars, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems) and comfort working in an on site, customer facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform core lab support operations, including autoclave use, glasswashing, buffer and media preparation, and maintaining adequate PPE stock for daily lab needs.
• Support lab safety and compliance activities by managing chemical and biological waste, and completing routine inspections of safety equipment such as eyewash stations and safety showers.
• Assist with equipment upkeep and service coordination, including basic preventative maintenance tasks, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support lab operations.
