Onsite IT Services Technician - Herndon, VA
Location: Herndon, VA. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Onsite).
Compensation: $20–$27 per hour, depending on experience, plus full benefits.
Role Overview
As a Services Technician, you will support end‑user hardware, software and network equipment in a corporate environment, ensuring optimal performance and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for end‑user hardware, software, mobile devices and peripherals.
- Install, monitor, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade hardware and software to ensure workstation performance.
- Respond to ITSM tickets, including updating ticket status and providing timely communications to clients.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis on recurring tickets and identify opportunities for automated remediation.
- Oversee and ensure IT readiness for office relocations and new setups.
- Maintain office computer rooms, networking closets and local site servers.
- Identify and resolve problems promptly, gathering and analyzing information, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands.
- Stay flexible for work outside normal hours; overtime may be required with pre‑approval.
- Travel occasionally to other regional offices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide basic knowledge of computer hardware, software and peripherals.

- Communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences.
- Handle stressful, on‑site client interactions.
- Maintain strong customer‑service focus.
- Use Microsoft Windows 7, 10 and 11; Adobe applications.
- Use ticketing system (ServiceNow preferred); remote support tools (Bomgar, BeyondTrust).
- Setup and troubleshoot MFA on mobile devices.
- Ensure secure client connectivity (ethernet, TCP/IP, VPN, virtual servers).
- Basic troubleshooting of networking (Meraki networks).
- File server and sharing systems; SFTP applications.
- VPN issues troubleshooting.
- Basic on‑site networking support.
- Maintain documents and record‑keeping with confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in a similar support role in a corporate environment.
- White‑Glove customer service skills and high sense of urgency.
- High proficiency with Windows 10, Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in Adobe and other office productivity applications.
- Intermediate skills in managing Local and Azure Active Directory, domains, auditing and group policy.
- Preferred: Microsoft AZ‑900 and AZ‑104 certifications.
- Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Experience providing remote support via Bomgar/BeyondTrust and MS Teams.
- Experience configuring MFA on iOS/Android devices.
- Experience with secure client PC connectivity: ethernet, TCP/IP, VPN and virtual servers.
- Experience with Meraki networking (basic troubleshooting).
- Knowledge of file server, file sharing and SFTP applications.
- Experience with VPN issues, preferably Windows VPN client.
- Intermediate on‑site networking support skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of information security, network security, firewall administration and system administration.
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
