Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join a client site in Milpitas, CA. This full-time, onsite role targets optimization of electronic manufacturing operations across SMT, THT, and PCB assembly.

The engineer will collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to scale operations and improve performance. Required are 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering, with strong Lean and Six Sigma experience, and proficiency in data analysis, Excel,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
5+ years in electronic manufacturing (SMT/PCB).
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (DMAIC).

Responsibilities

Optimize production processes with line balancing, cycle time reduction, and labor efficiency.
Design and improve workstations, tooling, and fixtures to boost productivity.
Support SMT/THT assembly and resolve daily production issues.
Monitor KPIs (OEE, UPH, FPY, scrap rate) and drive improvements.
Lead Lean initiatives (Kaizen, 5S) and Six Sigma projects (DMAIC).
Drive waste reduction and operational excellence initiatives.
Perform time studies and workflow analysis for improvements.
Improve soldering, PCB assembly, and testing processes.
Utilize SPC and root-cause analysis to reduce defects and improve yield.
Support CAPA processes and IPC standards adherence.
Coordinate with supply chain on material flow and scheduling.
Assist in ramp-up, design for manufacturability, and transition to mass production.
