Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Electrical Designer Drafter for its FRICK manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, PA. The role focuses on designing, documenting, and validating electrical control systems for industrial equipment, using PLCs, embedded platforms, and Autodesk Electrical.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, project management and field teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions on schedule. Onsite relocation within commuting distance is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5+ years in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years in electrical controls design or related engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial equipment and automation applications.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, terminal plans, and BOMs using Autodesk Electrical.
• Develop PLC and embedded hardware documentation for new product designs and customer projects.
• Select electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, industrial computers, power supplies, sensors.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and company standards.
• Support design changes and update documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, production, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Assist in panel layout optimization for manufacturability and serviceability.
• Generate documentation packages for manufacturing, testing, and field installation.
• Participate in design reviews and project reviews.
• Provide technical support during system integration, testing, startup and troubleshooting.
