Job summary

Cartus is seeking an On-site Immigration Specialist in Dallas, TX or New York, NY to support nonimmigrant, immigrant, and green card matters within the Americas team. The role requires monitoring milestones, liaising with counsel and HR, and advising stakeholders on policy-compliant decisions.

The candidate should have 3+ years of US immigration experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong data accuracy, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years minimum of corporate US immigration experience in both nonimmigrant and immigrant/green card and visa matters
• Bachelor’s degree
• Analytical rigor with data audits and accurate government filings
• Strong organizational skills and proactive approach
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Willingness to work overtime during peak immigration cycles

Responsibilities

• Independently manage caseload for nonimmigrant and immigrant/green card matters
• Track work accordingly and escalate matters when needed
• Proactively liaise with external immigration counsel and HR to ensure milestones
• Advise stakeholders on immigration-related business decisions per firm policies
• Update stakeholders on immigration developments impacting employees
• Liaise with external counsel on US government inquiries for local employees
• Assist with immigration issues for interns and new hires
• Serve as project team member on annual immigration-related projects (e.g., H-1B lottery)
• Assist with updating policy/process and project plan documentation
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting/metrics requests
• Conduct data validation on immigration support documentation for Americas (US) filings
• Collaborate with Global Mobility team on relocations considerations
