Job summary

Breaking Ground in Brooklyn's Midwood Safe Haven seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe common areas and client rooms. You will sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and prepare spaces for events, while supporting on-site staff.

This 35-hour per week, on-site position requires physical effort, ability to climb stairs, and reliability. Experience with cleaning equipment and basic computer skills are a plus, and you will contribute to a respectful, accessible living environment.

Qualifications

• Comparable work experience is required.
• Experience operating a vacuum cleaner and a high speed buffer.
• Ability to lift and move furniture, appliances, etc.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, dust, and vacuum
• Seal, wax, and buff floors and hard surfaces
• Maintain sidewalks, including sweeping, raking leaves, and shoveling snow
• Clean individual units when vacated or requested by work order
• Sort and package recyclables to comply with NYC regulations
• Operate compactor
• Set up and clean up for meetings and other events
• Assist painters and engineers when assigned
• Perform work at other facilities as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned
