Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a field service diesel mechanic to troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field and provide face-to-face customer service. The role includes maintaining vehicles, tools, and equipment, while adhering to safety protocols.

The position requires 3–5 years of diesel equipment repair experience (preferably Caterpillar), hydraulic, powertrain and electrical system knowledge, and a valid CDL. 24/7 coverage may be required for critical service calls.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; vocational training in diesel equipment repair.
• 3–5 years of mechanical experience with equipment, preferably Caterpillar; strong hydraulics, power train and electrical systems.
• Understanding of work area metrics; knowledge of 6 Sigma and ability to improve processes.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills; ability to interpret policies and procedures.
• Strong customer service mindset; professional appearance and conduct.
• CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment in the field.
• Complete service time reporting, including time allocation and parts tracking.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by meeting deadlines and safe, timely repairs.
• Maintain company issued equipment and tools in good working order.
• Adhere to 5S and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Update customers on job status and potential delays.
• Carry a company cell phone and be available 24/7.
