Job summary

Beacon Behavioral Partners seeks a Health Information Manager for our inpatient hospital in Lutcher, LA. The role ensures accurate, secure health records, HIPAA compliance, and efficient information flow to support clinical decision-making.

You will supervise EHR systems, coordinate with clinicians and staff, conduct audits, and drive data quality initiatives in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in health information management, health informatics, or related field.
• RHIA or RHIT certification required or eligible.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HIPAA and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate patient health records in electronic and paper formats.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations governing health information privacy and security.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to provide timely access to health information for clinical and billing purposes.
• Implement and monitor health information systems to improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting capabilities.
• Conduct regular audits and quality checks to identify and resolve discrepancies in health records.
• Train staff on documentation practices and use of health information technologies.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes in health information management.
